Club History
Lovedean Karate Club
Established 1982
Due to an increase in membership, training was quickly increased to twice weekly and moved to Meadowlands First School, Cowplain, gaining in benefit of improved conditions, championship success was quick to follow when at the first SEKU championship in June 1982 LKC gained trophies in both Kata and Kumite ( set moves and free fighting ). This success was continued into the Portsmouth Invitation Championship in November 1982 with again LKC taking honours in both kata and kumite sections. Within six months of it's launch Lovedean Karate Club had set the standard of things to come.
| In 1989 LKC moved to it's
current location at Napier Hall, Horndean. Gradings at LKC are conducted quarterly and held on a regional basis. Regular courses are available, as are selected championships held in a traditional format and of high calibre competitors. |
